About this role:

As the Email Operations Associate for Dwell, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team that intersects marketing, editorial, and sales. You will be responsible for the scheduling, creation, deployment, and analysis of email communications, from newsletters and surveys to re-engagement campaigns and promotions. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of existing campaigns, as well as support the growth of our email operations. You’ll be the dedicated channel expert, managing our email calendar and audience segments while sustaining platform best practices. Our ideal candidate is experienced with executing engaging campaigns that meet brand and quality standards to a high degree.

This position has the option of working remotely, or joining us in an office in NYC if you prefer.


  • Own the production of our daily newsletters (Daily Dose, Dwell Shop), as well as branded and engagement campaigns.
  • Monitor daily email operations to ensure campaigns are completed and deployed on time and with a high deliverability.
  • Collaborate closely with the editorial, product, and sales teams to create engaging, effective campaigns from copy to creative asset selection.
  • Expand email audience segments and support new systems to nurture campaigns to various audiences.
  • Measure effectiveness of email marketing campaigns and monitor subscriptions to continually improve ROI from email marketing efforts.
  • Support processes for building audiences, sending emails, and lifecycle programs.
  • Ensure compliance with consumer protection laws (CAN-SPAM, CCPA, TCPA, GDPR, CASL, etc).


  • 2+ years email marketing experience within an EMS. Mailchimp or a similar platform (Sailthru, Klavio, etc) preferred.
  • You have strong HTML & CSS skills, as well as experience writing and editing email marketing content.
  • You understand email optimization; subject line, deliverability, template performance, segmentation, and list hygiene.
  • You are data-driven with a proven track record of using email programs to drive overall company goals.
  • You are process-driven. You seek to establish and refine systems for project management and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • You are a self-starter and have a high level of accountability.
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing or communications
